Day 2 of Nigella's big burkini blunder: Domestic Goddess is back on the beach

Shady: Nigella takes refuge from the sun propped up against a wall on another visit to the beach


Perhaps she had had second thoughts after seeing pictures of herself in the ridiculous all-in-one burkini-style swimming costume. Or maybe a pal had given her some friendly fashion advice.

Whatever the reason, voluptuous Domestic Goddess Nigella Lawson returned to Australia's Bondi Beach wearing considerably less than the head-to-toe get-up she sported the day before.

But it was still markedly conservative for the 51-year-old's usual standards.

For the TV cook - known for showing of her curves in low-cut and tight-fitting outfits - it seemed like an odd choice to opt for a complete cover-up when she splashed around in the sea with a companion on Monday.

Her outfit was compared to a burkini - a three-piece swimsuit designed to preserve the modesty of Muslim women - with a baseball cap beneath the hood.

Yesterday, however, she appeared to have ditched the all-in-one and instead wore a voluminous black sundress - a frumpy far cry from the usual glamour associated with one of the country's sexiest television stars.

According to sources, Nigella was concerned about being exposed to the late-summer Sydney sun. She seemed to reinforce this sentiment on her second consecutive day on the beach, by resting in the shade and using a wide-brimmed sun hat to protect her from the sun's rays.
